What to watch at home this week/weekend

Creed – ITV2 – Sunday 25th Nov – 19:20

Who knew that another Rocky film could be good? Taking the story from the perspective of Apollo Creeds son (Michael B Jordan) this is a great reboot of the series. Emotional story, great fights and the traditional Rocky montages. Check it out before the sequel hits this month.

The Thing – Horror Channel – Sunday 25th Nov – 21:00

The Thing

Classic body horror from John Carpenter. Scientists in Antarctica discover a crashed alien spaceship and make the mistake of bringing a frozen body back to their camp. Paranoia follows as the creature stalks them by taking on their appearance. Gory and brilliant. The remake in 2011 wasn’t. Starring Kurt Russell at the peak of his powers!

Mad Max : Fury Road – Five – Sunday 25th Nov – 21:00

mad max

George Millers Mad Max reboot had no right to be this great. Visually stunning, completely bonkers, 100% action and great performances from Tom Hardy and especially Charlize Theron. Strap in and enjoy the ride!

DVD/Blu Ray of the week

Mission Impossible: Fallout

Mission+Impossible fallen

No decent DVDs this week, so I have gone for the iTunes 4k release of Mission Impossible Fallout. Amazing stunts and fights from director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) and star (stuntman) Tom Cruise. It really is a joy to behold. A few too many plot twists for the sake of it but you came for the action right? and it delivers. Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) is a little bland but I loved Venessa Kirby (the Crown) as the White Widow. Turn it up loud and enjoy!
