Top 10 – 2010

A year with a top 3 that were very difficult to split. Ultimately, Chris Nolan’s masterpiece Inception won through. It made me think of a Bond film made by Stanley Kubrick. It is so epic, intelligent and emotional. I love how it handles the different timelines and how they interact.

The Road is one of the most depressing films I have ever seen but also brilliant. Viggo Mortensen is superb as the father trying to keep going for his son as the world ends. A heartbreaking look at parenting, hope and fear.

I will also always defend Tron Legacy. I think it is a striking update of an 80’s classic that keeps the feel of the ’80s while transporting to the current day. Style over subsense yes, but what style!
